The charity supporting cycling in the community.
We are all about getting adults on bikes.
We run a programme of weekly rides and organised trips which are open to everyone – see our Facebook page for regular news and events.
Our Kirkley workshop is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm (10am to 2pm Saturday) We provide servicing and repairs for all bikes and we have a range of new and refurbished bikes, parts and accessories for sale. Our staff are happy to provide any advice you need to get you enjoying life on two wheels!
We facilitate cycling across the whole of mainland UK, for cyclists of all abilities. Whether you’re aiming to do one of the recognised challenge routes - the C2C, Coast and Castles, Reivers or Hadrian’s Cycleway - or whether you’d like to put together your own ride for work colleagues or friends, we can help.
WATBus Community Transport (charity number 1076729) was established in 1998 to provide bus services to the elderly, disabled and youth groups of South East Northumberland. A few years later we were given a bike trailer – and wondered what to do with it! Which is when we started the cycle transport side of our operation.
It wasn’t long before we were being asked for routes, training programmes and for assistance with mapping and guiding …… and so WATBike was officially born in 2010. Since then, we’ve grown into the recognised and respected organisation we are today – and have had lots of fun and good times along the way!
We have many reviews and recommendations on our Facebook page, but a small selection of them is as follows:
What a lovely resource. Nice people providing wonderful bikes at great prices. Their knowledge is boundless and the service is ever so friendly. Six stars in fact.
