WATBike

A charitable organisation supporting cycling in the community.

WATBus Community Transport was established in 1998 to provide bus services to the elderly, disabled and youth groups of South East Northumberland. A few years later we were given a bike trailer and wondered what to do with it! Which is when we started the cycle transport side of our operation.

It wasn’t long before we were being asked for routes, training programmes and for assistance with mapping and guiding… and so WATBike was officially born in 2010. Since then, we’ve grown into the recognised and respected organisation we are today – and have had lots of fun and good times along the way!

We are all about getting people on bikes.

Our Kirkley workshop is open Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm and Saturdays 10am to 2pm for servicing and repairs for all bikes and we have a range of new and refurbished bikes, parts and accessories for sale. Our staff are happy to provide any advice you need to get you enjoying life on two wheels!

We also run a programme of weekly rides and organised trips which are open to everyone – see our Facebook page for regular news and events – and facilitate cycling across the whole of mainland UK. Whether you’re aiming to do a major challenge such as the C2C or want to put together your own ride for work colleagues or friends, we can help.
